Career Opportunity: Scientist at Enzo

Enzo Life Sciences is a leading life sciences and biotechnology company focused on harnessing genetic processes to develop research tools, diagnostics and therapeutics and provides reference laboratory services to the medical community.

The company looking for an R&D Scientist with a background in Molecular Biology or related scientific field. Full position description below. A PhD in Molecular Biology of related scientific field is required. Ideally candidate will have 3-5 years of related experience – postdoctoral work may be considered related experience. Interested candidates should submit resume and cover letter to Jill Zweigbaum, Human Resources Manager at

Major Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for leading efforts to develop new assays for clinical diagnostics, as well as improving existing platforms. The Scientist develops reagents and kits utilized for flow-cytometer, immunohistochemistry, in situhybridization, microplate cytometry, nucleic acid amplification and detection that can be used as readouts for diagnostics. This position will be responsible for developing assay kits suitable for clinical samples (i.e. Blood or tissues), as well as established cell lines, with the overall goal of providing richer readouts of biological activity than traditional assays performed for compound screening or clinical diagnostics. The Scientist will be part of a team of scientists dedicated to creating kits relevant to pathway, mechanism, and predictive knowledge for target discovery and validation or for clinical diagnostics.

Specific Duties:

  • Develop, optimize, and implement flow-cytometer, ELISA and/or immunohistochemistry assays.
  • Create, develop, and optimize new reagents and kits relating to clinical diagnostics and functional proteomics and genomics.
  • Solve complex research, development, and sustaining challenges.
  • Perform data analysis, write reports and present results and project assessments to senior management.
  • Support the stage-gate new product introduction process with individual and team projects.
  • Serve as the technical lead on cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals.
